Authentic Hadiths on Forbidden Days for Fasting

In Islam, fasting is a beautiful act of worship, but the Prophet Muhammad specified certain days when voluntary fasting is not allowed. According to these authentic prophetic narrations, you should not single out Friday for fasting unless you also fast the day before or the day after it. In fact, when the Prophet visited his wife Juwairiya and found her fasting on a Friday alone, he explicitly instructed her to break her fast. Additionally, fasting is strictly forbidden on the festive days of Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha. According to Islamic scholars, these days are meant for celebration, feasting, and enjoying meals with family, rather than abstaining from food.
