Mishkat al-MasabihHadith Number 5301

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr رحمه الله narrated that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "To observe Zuhd (abstinence) (abstinence) in this world is not to forbid the lawful to oneself or to squander property. But, zuhd (abstinence) in this world is that you rely more on what is with Allah than on that which you possess, and that you long for reward against hardship which our encounter to such an extent that you wish it to prolong for ever."
