Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet ﷺ used to mingle with them cheerfully and even said to a young brother of his, 'O Abu Umayr, what has happened to an Nughayr?' He had a nughayr (a small bird) with which he played and which had died. [1]
