MEANINGLESS SPEECH IS MAKRUH (DISAPPROVED)

Mishkat al-MasabihHadith Number 4798
وَرَوَى التِّرْمِذِيُّ نَحْوَهُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ وَفِي رِوَايَتِهِ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُول الله قد علمنَا الثرثارونَ والمتشدقون فَمَا المتفيقهون؟ قَالَ: «المتكبرون»
According to a version narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir رضي الله عنه they asked, "O Messenger of Allah, we understand who the (التَّرَارُورُ) those who speak much and the (الْمُتَشَدِّدُونَ) (those who are loud mouthed are, but who are (الْمُتَفَيِّهُونَ) the voluble (al-mutafayhiqoon)?" He said, "They are (الْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ) the arrogant (al-mutakabbiroon)." [5]
